PRIMARY FUNCTION 

This is a full-time position for a Geospatial Database Engineer supporting our federal government customer at Hurlburt Field, FL. The successful candidate will be part of a team that builds synthetic environments that are flown on Special Operations Forces ground and air simulators. The system provides operational intelligence support to enable integrated SOF mission planning and rehearsal for real-world combat environments. This position will help develop, enhance, and analyze various forms of digital geographical data, and then assemble this data into real-time visual databases for flight and ground simulation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Enhances, sustains, and analyzes the various forms of digital Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) data, and assembles them to produce three-dimensional (3D) scene visualization databases and enhanced GEOINT data (maps, imagery, and terrain data) in support of SOF training, planning, rehearsal and execution systems. 
  • Edits and creates geospatial informational (GIS) data in support of 3D simulation projects. 
  • Produces 3D high-level and low-level models in support of SOF training, planning, rehearsal and 3D terrain database generation execution systems.   
  • Creates 3D terrain databases for any of the following visual and radar simulation systems:  Vital, Virtual Battlespace (VBS), MetaVR VRSG, Common Database (CDB), and Joint Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF). 
  • Ensures quality control is performed on all data that has been digitized, modeled, and colorized for each database. 
  • Validate the geospatial accuracy and certifies the use of intelligence data in the final product. 
  • Other duties as required. 

REQUIRED SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: 

  • Active Secret clearance (or higher).  
  • Associate or Bachelor-level degree (Combination of training, education, experience including Military service equivalent to a degree and required years of experience may be acceptable).  
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional and relevant experience.  
  • Experience supporting military / DoD program is a plus.   
  • Proficient user of at least two of the following programs: FSI Vital 1100, CDB, Presagis Creator, Autodesk 3D Studio Max, Autodesk Maya, ESRI ArcGIS Suite, Presagis Terra Vista, Presagis Creator, SOCET GXP, TerraSim TerraTools, VBS3, Unity and MetaVR.   
  • Proficient in 3D database generation workflow. 
  • Experience with geographic information systems data types 
  • Experience creating and manipulating multiple geospatial intelligence data formats used to create simulation visual databases.  
  • Have demonstrated a superior ability in developing effective professional and interpersonal relationships with peers and colleagues across multiple functional groups and external partners.  
  • Have demonstrated an ability to balance responsibilities among assigned activities; including the ability to manage transitions effectively from task to task, and proven adaptability to varying customer needs.  
  • Good time management skills are necessary to complete projects that range in time from a few hours to months.

This is a full-time position for a Geospatial Test and Evaluation Engineer supporting our federal government customer at Hurlburt Field, FL. The successful candidate will be part of a team that builds synthetic environments that are flown on Special Operations Forces ground and air simulators. The system provides operational intelligence support to enable integrated SOF mission planning and rehearsal for real-world combat environments. This position will support system software integration, testing, and documentation, as well as developing, maintaining and updating system hardware and software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Integrate, test, and maintain approved and all new and/or upgraded software and/or hardware technology enhancements.   
  • Provide testing, documentation and qualification of system and software and or tools developed by others outside this contract for 3D scene visualization database production.   
  • Implement testing methods, record test results, and provide recommendations to improve software or tools based on the results.  
  • Conflate source from multiple sensors into an environment that supports machine to machine automation to accelerate processing, exploitation, and dissemination and the generation of OGC CDB compliant databases. 
  • Test Artifical Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms or platforms for 3D rapid utilization and distribution. 
  • Required to collaborate with management to streamline operations, and document software testing procedures.  

REQUIRED SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: 

  • Bachelor-level degree and a minimum of 5 years of professional and relevant experience. Experience supporting military / DoD program is a plus. Combination of training, education, experience (including Military service) equivalent to a degree and required years of experience may be acceptable) 
  • Thorough understanding of creating, implementing, and maintaining Geo-spatial 3D software programs. 
  • Knowledge in data structures and SDK/API design and implementation. 
  • Knowledge in cloud system architecture, specifically Application and API development & deployment. 
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, data management, and security 
  • Working knowledge of 3D visualization database generation workflow. 
  • Experience with geographic information systems data types. 
  • Knowledge of experimental techniques and test optimizations for small and limited sample sizes. 
  • Experience creating and manipulating multiple geospatial intelligence data formats used to create simulation visual databases.  
  • Proficient user of any of the following programs: ESRI ArcGIS Suite, Presagis Terra Vista, Presagis Creator, 3D Studio Max, FSI Vital DBGS, TerraSim TerraTools, VBS3, Unity, CDB.  
  • Working knowledge of the Common Database (CDB) or other real time geospatial simulation databases such as Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) CDB, FSI Vital, MetaVR, JSAF, Unity or VBS. 
  • Have demonstrated a superior ability in developing effective professional and interpersonal relationships with peers and colleagues across multiple functional groups and external partners.  
  • Have demonstrated an ability to balance responsibilities among assigned activities; including the ability to manage transitions effectively from task to task, and proven adaptability to varying customer needs. 
  • Strong technical, problem-solving, and written and oral communication skills
